Body Scrubs - El es Beauty Boutique

So I don't know about you but my skin hates the winter weather it dries up horribly and goes all flaky I think its from all the hot showers I have and the heating in our home plus I'm terrible at remembering to moistizing after each shower well is laziness not remembering? I have been lucky enough to have the gorgeous Laura from El es Beauty Boutique send me some of their yummy body scrubs to enjoy in the fragrances salted caramel, lavender/rosemary and cinnamon/orange so let me share my thoughts on these beauties....

I will start with salted caramel which has turned out to be my favourite scrub out of all of them! With all natural ingredients of salt, coconut oil, honey, sweet almond oil, and vanilla bean the ingredients alone are enough to want to slather yourself in this yummy goodness. the scrub is a clear crushed up consistency imagine rock salt but crushed finer and the colour is clear which i quite liked as it didn't mess up my shower quite as much as other scrubs. You only need a handful to do your entire body but if you are only targeting a small area obviously use less or if you're like me with a bit of booty and belly you may like to use more! I loved the smell it was nice and sweet so if you don't like anything sweet smelling you may like something like the lavender and rosemary scrub. I like to put this on once I've done everything I need to in the shower, now you don't need to do it this way but I find it works best for me. I'm lazy (as stated earlier haha) and I just grab a handful straight from the bag but you may also like to put a handful in a small bowl before you pop into the shower either way whatever works for you. I then start rubbing it in small sections all over my body mainly focusing on my arms and chest then a little on my belly then on my thighs usually I don't go further down than my thighs as I'm not flexible especially in the shower where ill probably end up on my bum. I will leave that to soak into my skin for a good 4-5 mins, while I wait I like to scrub it in a little more just to exfoliate the super dry areas after 5 mins I will rinse it off. Once you're out of the shower you can apply moistizer if you're not lazy like me but if you are the scrub has all of those amazing natural oils in it so you will feel nice and soft and moisturised anyway so you can get away with just getting dressed and being flake free, smooth and smelling incredibly delicious!

The one thing I did want to note was that I have a slight bit of eczema on my arm that gets very irritated by some highly fragranced body washes but this scrub did not irritate me at all and it was gentle enough on the sore spots plus in general I have terribly sensitive skin and this was just lovely to scrub with! The other two fragrances did the exact same job with the exception of the scents of course. The only difference being the lavender and rosemary which had a few bits of rosemary mixed in with the clear scrub it sounds odd i know but it was not a worry at all it just adds to the beautiful aroma. This scent was my favourite to use if I was having a night shower as the lavender was beautifully calming and I love anything lavender before bed. The cinnamon and orange scent was nice and refreshing so it was great to mix it up and use in the mornings.

If you are a scrub lover you definitely should check out El es Beauty Boutique as all of their products are free of animal testing, have no fragrances just natural oils and have no synthetic colours so you know what you are putting on your body is only the good stuff! Starting at $11.95 for the scrubs you will not be disappointed especially at that fab price point. If you are a lover of beautiful all natural products they also offer body butters, lip balms, heat bags and candles just pop on over to their website www.elesbeautyboutique.com and check it out!

Candle Review - Lazy Sunday

I have been so excited to share with you all these incredible candles from Lazy Sunday as I know you will love them as much as I do. The amazing design was the first thing to catch my attention with the beautiful colourings and the simple font lettering, I think these would suit any candle lover and every home as there is a beautiful candle and scent for everyone. Lazy Sunday are all 100% natural soy candles there are ten scents to choose from with a perfect mix of sweet, floral, earthy, and fruity. You are guaranteed to find your favourite scent or even a new scent to try and for only $24.95 for the glassed candle you are getting a serious bargain!

The very lovely Toni is the creator and owner of Lazy Sunday candles and has kindly gifted me two scents the first is the scent "summer" which is described as, an unforgettable fusion of crushed sweet watermelon and plump ripe kiwi fruit and I would have to agree with this description as it is a very sweet and fruity scent perfect for a hot summers day enjoying a freshly squeezed juice or yummy cocktail. I received this scent in a melts packet which has over 45+ hours of scent. If you are yet to try candle melts you need to purchase them ASAP especially if you love burning a candle in a lounge room or kitchen or if you have a large space to make smell incredible as melts give off the strongest scent throw. I will put one square of my melt into the top of my oil burner and it will fragrance our large lounge/dining room for hours on end.

The second candle I was kindly gifted was the large glass candle in the "love and liaison" scent which if you can imagine exquisite french champagne entwined with luscious strawberries and decadent pink roses that is the scent you will experience. It is a perfect mix of sweet and floral, something perfectly unique and feminine with a touch of playfulness. For me this is an amazing candle to gift to your bestie, mum or even to treat yourself with. I have so many loves about this candle apart from the gorgeous scent they would have to be the fact it is a sturdy glass candle holding a great amount of wax which will last you over 45+ hours of burning time and a wooden wick to give you a really cool crackling sound that of campfire. I like wooden wicks as not all candles have these so to me they are a bit of a fun novelty. The candles also include a sleek white lid which just tops it off perfectly with the incredible colourful artwork.

l would love to hear if you own a Lazy Sunday candle and your thoughts on it, I cannot wait to purchase even more of these stunning candles. If you haven't already pop on over to www.lazysunday.com.au or visit Toni's beautiful instagram account @lazy_sundayco where you will find gorgeous photos of her candles and also her current trip to france the lucky duck where she is no doubt having the time of her life! I can't thank Toni enough for creating such incredible candles with a unique, modern and fun feel. Please don't forget to hashtag #allthatlozloves and #lazysundayco with the pictures of your lazy sunday candles so we can see them styled in your homes.

Candle Review - Amali Soy Candles

I promise I will post more about makeup and other goodies soon but I couldn't wait to tell you all about the incredible candle company "Amali Soy Candles" and the even more about the incredible owner Amy who has been nothing but amazing to me so without going into detail I have been very unwell the last 18 months and Amy has been so kind, lovely and patient with me when I told her my situation she would email me to make sure I was ok, even the smallest gestures are the kindest. I honestly believe small businesses so amazing to work with and I couldn't have been any luckier to have the opportunity to work with Amy. With Christmas almost here what a better time to start buying from local small businesses, I am more than thankful for the incredible products that are produced.

Amy has kindly sent me through a pack of soy melts (which was something i had yet to try) in the scent raspberry zinger and a maxi tea light in blueberry cobbler. Let me just start off by saying I had never tried either of these scents and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they smelt. I went out and purchased an oil burner from a $2 shop which does the job perfectly I do want to purchase a raw timber oil burner and now that Amali Soy Candles now stocks them I will have to get one after Christmas. My melts are in the raspberry zinger scent which is a combination of sweet raspberry, toasted coconut, butter cream and vanilla, which to me has a sweet but creamy rasperry scent to put it simply. All you need to do is brake one or two melts off the block and pop it into the top of the oil burner, light a tea light candle underneath and you're set to enjoy your favourite scent, I cannot believe how strong the scent throw is that the melts produce I honestly think they have a stronger scent throw than a standard candle. The six pack of melts will last you 60 hours in total or 10 hours per melt and its only $8 for a pack of six how amazing is that, a perfect kris kringle pressie or even a stocking filler!

There are over 13 scents to choose from plus limited edition scents and christmas scents you will honestly be spoiled for choice. The pricing ranges from $6 to $40 with a range of candles and candle care products you will find something that suits you and your home or that will be the perfect gift. All the candles made at Amali soy candles are 100% pure soy wax with cotton wicks which are safe for the home and family as they are lead and toxin free, along with high quality oils you will be garenteed a safe and incredibly scented soy candle. I honestly cannot thank and recommend Amy from Amali Soy Candles enough for the amazing customer service and stunning products she has provided me.

I would love to hear if you have purchased an Amali Soy Candle as I love hearing your thoughts, if you love candles as much as I do pop on over to @amalisoycandles Instagram page to check out some gorgeous candles and even more beautiful photos or alternatively head over to www.amalisoycandles.bigcartel.com to have a look at all the products available to purchase. Amy is nothing but amazing and will help you with all your inquiries and with christmas fast approaching you'll want to get in quick to not miss out. Thank you so much again Amy i can't wait to work with you again and purchase some of your stunning candles in the near future.

Candle Review - The Candle Creamery

I don't know if you've noticed but I'm kinda addicted to candles seriously I am obsessed I always have a candle or three on the go in my home. I just wanted to give you all quick little snippet of info before I tell you all about my latest addiction. I want you all to know even though I review candles regularly (many will say a lot) and post them on my Instagram page I will only ever review candles that I truly love and that also includes the business selling the candles as this was the reason I created my blog, I wanted to read truthful and informative reviews on things I loved (including candles) so while yes you may see many candle reviews I honestly love them all and would never review a candle I did not really love and enjoy as I want you all to love and enjoy them as much as I do. So now you are all caught up let me tell you about my latest loves...

I have been lucky enough to be kindly sent two amazing candles from the gorgeous Mel from The Candle Creamery, she kindly let me choose two scents so I choose two I had never used before as I love trying new scents as like I have said in the past sometimes you may find a new favourite. Macaron was my first choice as I have always eyed this scent off but was never quite sure on what the scent would be, would it be too sweet? would it be too strong? or would i realise i dislike macarons? I am so extremely happy to report it is indeed none of the above it is such a warm and yummy scent my first thought is a baking cookies kind of smell mixed in with a sugary sweetness but without the overkill. I loved burning this scent in the lounge room at nighttime on cooler nights as it makes you feel all cosy and happy. I think this would be a great scent to be burning during christmas lunch/dinner or on a cold night cuddled up on the couch with a cuppa.

Violet and Lime was the second scent I was sent and wow what a complete difference to Macaron this is. I love this scent just as much as Macaron but for different reasons. This scent is such a light fresh floral scent but the lime adds a splash of zing to the scent throw which makes it so unique. Violet and Lime has a summer nights feel written all over it and that is exactly what I have been using it for. A clean crisp scent is just what I want for those perfect spring days and nights that are starting to warm up,  Actually the two candles burning at the same time in the same room made for a incredible smelling home.

The candles I have are the Jersey Cow jar (small size) and are $12.95 with a burn time of 30+ hours, the wax pooling is great and they burn fantastically the scent throw is just as amazing so you will not be disappointed. These would be the perfect christmas gift or even a kris kringle pressie as the price point is incredible and what a way to sample a few scents! The Candle Creamery offers three different sized candles with the medium jar at $19.95 and with 60+ hours burn time, the large jar at $29.95 and with 120+ hours burn time and of course the candle size I have reviewed. Mel has also now included a gorgeous christmas range to be enjoyed and purchased as of now.

I would love to thank Mel for her incredible kindness and I cannot wait to make more candle purchases through The Candle Creamery in the near future. Please pop on over to www.thecandlecreamery.com.au to have a look at her beautiful products, she also has an instagram page @thecandlecreamery so you can keep up with the latest scents, photos, markets and specials that may be on at the time. I hope you all enjoy these as much as I have and I can't wait to see your the candle creamery photos.

Candle Review - Cinque Soy Candles

I am so excited to be writing this post today and while some of you may say "another candle review so soon?" but to be honest I couldn't wait to tell you all about my amazing candle and the business it came from. I was lucky enough for the gorgeous Elisa the founder and owner of Cinque Soy Candles to get in contact with me and offer me a candle to try out and enjoy. I was so excited that she had even noticed my little instagram page and my blog that I squealed a little in excitement and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, I may have continued to celebrated by eating half a block of chocolate... yep thats it you heard right thats how celebrate I'm totally wild don't judge. Ok so now for what you are all here for my thoughts on my amazing new Cinque Soy Candle, Enjoy!

I received the medium sized metro jar in the scent brown sugar and fig. I had been eyeing off this particular scent for sometime but was unsure how I would like it as I had never tried anything like it before and can I just say thank goodness she sent this scent as it has become a new favourite of mine. Brown sugar and fig is a perfect combination of a subtle sugary toned down smell. Its not over the top sickly sweet as the word sugar has you believe but more of a warm sugar smell it has the perfect blend to give it a pop of that baked desert scent we all love but the fig brings the scent down to an enjoyable warm and fresh level of perfection. It has a strong scent through without being an over powering scent. For me I find this is such a perfect year round scent as the mixture of the warm, the fresh and the sweet make for a perfect cosy autumn/winter scent sitting by the fire drinking a cup of tea or even now as the days are heating up its sweetness has me longing for long hot nights. I have this burning in the bedroom today and its not over powering at all I have also had this burning in our large lounge room nightly and it is the perfect amount of scent through for everyone to enjoy.

Cinque Soy Candles are Australian made they are also all hand poured with love at home by Elisa in Perth. The candles are 100% natural eco-friendly soy wax and a cotton braid lead free wick which is super important when choosing a candle for your home and the environment. The pooling of the wax is fantastic just remember to follow the candle care instructions and you will get the most enjoyment out of it to make this easier Elisa has placed a sticker on the bottom of each of her candles with all the info you will need to know. The medium metro jar which I have has a burn time of 40-50 hours and costs $20 that is amazing value for money. Cinque Soy Candles offers over 10 fragrances plus limited edition christmas scents at the moment so you will always find a scent that takes your fancy. Cinque have so many different kinds of amazing products on offer from different sized candle jars, melts, diffusers, oil burners, apothecary jars, vintage bowls, ceramic pots, gift packs, wick trimers and so many more amazing goodies. Did I mention she offers worldwide shipping now how awesome is that!

The packaging is so incredible it is what drew me in to start with, it has some amazing artwork on the labelling in black and white with some of the products even having gorgeous leather ties around the neck of the candle which makes them feel so unique, fresh and modern. I cannot thank Elisa enough for all her amazing support and sending me my gorgeous candle, I also cannot wait to make a few christmas purchases with her as I know my friends and family will love them as much as I do. If you have a chance please pop on over to Elisa's Instagram page which is @cinquesoycandles to look at her daily uploads of her incredible candles and there is even a link in the description to go directly to  the online store which is www.etsy.com/shop/cinquecandles where you will find all of her amazing candles.

I would love to hear your thoughts if you have purchased a Cinque Soy Candle or enjoy @cinquesoycandle instagrams page as much as I do. If you have a questions about these incredible candles Elisa is very helpful and will do her best to answer your candle questions.

Candle Review - Fickle Soy Candle Co.

What can I say I am a MASSIVE candle lover and hoarder, honestly it is a serious addiction. You will notice this on my Instagram as I love candles in my photographs. I hope to do a lot more reviews on all my favourite candles in the coming months and maybe include it as regular posts on my blog what are your thoughts?

My most recent purchase has been from Fickle Soy Candle Co. I was lucky enough to stumble across this business via their Instagram page a few weeks ago and wow was I blown away at all the beautiful photos and stunning products I saw before me. I kept my eyes on this page quite closely over the next few weeks and then one day there it was a glass skull candle. I had been looking for something like this for months and as soon as I saw it I knew this little stunner had to be in my hot little hands. I was also lucky enough to be given a pack of six different scents of the tea light candles as a gift a I was the first online customer for the newly launched website, honestly how amazing is that for customer service.

I was blown away by the extensive candle selection and amazing choice of fragrances which included a mixture of 14 scents including traditional favourites and then some unique scents this had me wanting them all. The fragrances all come with great descriptions online but in the end I went for a very summery fragrance of coconut and lime one of my top scents as it smells like summer and surfboard wax which is absolutely perfect as we are coming into spring. With the six pack of tea light candles I given Jackie offered some of the favourites and some of the best sellers to try out (sometimes you find your new fav scent doing this) I was lucky enough to receive rose geranium (now my new favourite), french pear, lemongrass, salted caramel, seven am and magnolia. The candles are all soy wax candles so they burn longer than paraffin candles, they have a cotton wick which does not contain lead this is perfect as it is great for the environment and the candles don't have any nasty toxins so its safe to burn close to you, your little ones and your pets.

The skull candle was $25 and will burn for approximately 25 hours and the 6 pack of tea lights are $10 and will burn for approximately 4 hours each. As this is a home run business most of the candles are made to order (some are ready to ship) so you may have to allow for this process to take place but once your products have been shipped it will not take long, I received mine the next day! Can you believe that I was totally amazed at how easy and seamless the whole process was from ordering it online right down to taking that gorgeously wrapped package out of mr postman's hands.

So if you are on the hunt for some new candles or even just after having a squizz at Fickle Soy Candle Co please pop on over to www.ficklesoycandleco.com or take a look at their Instagram page ficklesoycandleco, Did i forget to mention it is also an Australian business so thats a fab plus to support local.

Thank you so very much to the gorgeous Jackie at Fickle Soy Candle Co. I cannot wait to make my next purchase and support such a beautiful business.

SKINCARE Favourites

Hey Guys!

So today I am talking to you about all of my favourite and current go-to skin care products. I will start off by telling you that my skin is a bit of a mixture of the occasional dry spot on my forehead, around my eyebrows and nose, but then occasionally my nose can be a little more on the oily side  but the rest of my face is very normal. I treat my skin as though it is more on the dry side so I can lock more moister into it. I have in the past tried to treat it as though it was oilier and that just made my skin freak out, tighten up and dry up instantly so this is another reason I prefer to treat it with more moisturising products. I also very rarely get massive breakouts I get the occasional pimple or spot but I am pretty lucky. I am not entirely lucky as blackheads are my enemy I get them as on my nose and occasionally on my upper lip. If i do have a pimple it is not small and will scar but i can't complain!

MY CURRENT FAVS

CLEANSING

To cleanse in the morning I will use the Korres 3 in 1 cleansing emulsion creamy cleanser. It is so soft and gentle and will not sting your eyes. I use this by its self every morning as it is light and quick to use in the shower. For my night time cleanse I use the Korres cleanser and add a small amount of the Philosophy Purity cleanser I then mix them together applying it to my face with my fingers.

CLARISONIC

I have the original clarisonic and I use this every second or third night in the shower with the Purity and Korres cleaners. It really depends on how much make up and sunscreen I have used that day as to how regularly will need to use it.

TONING

When I am out of the shower I will then go ahead and use my Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner (which is an exfoliating toner). I use this on a cotton round all over my face focusing on the centre of my face working my way out - This toner is amazing for scarring and pigmentation I have definitely noticed a change in the brightness and reduced scarring since using this the last 4 months. I always go in with a second toner which is my Mario Badescu Aloe Vera toner it is a light toner and has no added alcohol. I wait a few minutes after applying the first toner before applying this then use the same process of swiping it on the face with a cotton round focusing on the centre of my face and working my way out.

MOISTURISERS

This is defiantly my favourite part of my routine. I have been using the skincare companies moisturiser with sunscreen for the last 2.5 years and honestly it is the most amazing moisturiser I've found. It is from a skin care clinic called Pamper Skin Care Clinic in Geelong Victoria but it is also available online. It is more of an expensive moistizer but I can tell you it is worth every penny plus more! It is a thin constancy with a combination of licorice and sunflower seed extract it is perfect for all skin types.

EYE CREAM

I am currently using the kiehl's creamy eye treatment with avocado, which to be honest when I first used this I was unsure if I liked it. But the more I've used it the more I have fallen in love with it. I love to use this product at night more so than during the day as I find it to be quite thick, but it definitely plumps up under my eye area and it gives me the most hydrating feeling the next day. I will use this on occasion during the day if I am not wearing any makeup as I find its to thick to wear under foundation or concealer.

NIGHT CREAM

Antipodes avocado and pear nourishing night cream is the most moisturising night cream I've ever used. After my shower and skin care routine I will add this instead of my day moisturiser and as I usually have a shower before dinner time I will also add this night cream for a second time just before I go to bed. I cannot believe how much of a difference this has made to the softness and plumpness of my skin the effects the next morning are amazing. - I learnt this trick from Caroline Hirons who if you've never heard of her I beg you to please check out her blog and youtube channel I adore this woman and her tips and tricks on skin care, just do it just check her out you'll be amazed!

ROSE HIP OIL

If you are not using rose hip oil please go out and buy some right now as you really depriving your skin of natural amazingness! I am currently using the Sukin rose hip oil and I use this everyday without fail. I use this morning and night and will use 2-3 drops in the morning mixed in with my daily morning moisturiser and I will use 4 drops at night time before my night time moistizer ( I know this sounds very specific but I finally found the perfect combination for how it makes my skin feel and look plus I am way to ocd so I have a very set routine for my skin) - I'm not crazy i swear! This will help reduce scarring and pigmentation and help your skin glow. It really is my miracle product.

LIQUID GOLD

I have just received this product and I purchased it as a sample set with a few other Alpha-H products, but this one has been the stand out for me. To get the best results out of this product is to use it every third or fourth day depending on your skin type and sensitivity. It is a glycolic acid liquid so it will make your skin tingle when you first apply it but it should not hurt or burn your face. I use a cotton round and swipe this all over my face after my toner process. For the best results with this product its best to use it at night, after you've applied this product its best not to apply moisturiser or any serums just a little eye cream and you are done for the night. Over time this will make your skin clearer and brighter and firmer.

GLAM GLOW YOUTH MASK

This is a very new product for me I have only used it twice but so far i like it. Keep in mind it is a super strong clay mask and it must only be used once a week. When I've used it my skin has been so incredablty soft and clear and my blackheads on my nose have been pulled straight out its amazing how gross it looks while drying on the skin. I plan to keep this as a special use mask to use before any major events. This can also be used as a spot treatment which will be great for any pesky pimples.

This is my first official post so I would just like to say thank you so much for having a read and bearing with me as I am learning the ropes of blogging and how I  am setting it all up etc, also apologies for the poor quality photos I am sure the more I blog and photograph the better I will become. If you have a spare minute I would love to hear your thoughts of this post and any ideas with what you would love to see for upcoming posts.
